well idk if I would consider myself die-hard but I really do enjoy a good FF game

I have played 7, 10, and 12 and really liked them all and now I am like halfway through 8 and it is pretty kickass too

hmmm.....well you guys will obviously have your opinions, but seeing as you guys said that FF sucks completely I felt like I should say something...

so basically the reason I believe that FF games are good is due to the story it creates as well as the development of the characters...and also strategy and other stuff like that....

all the time ppl are like...ohh well these games are just over hyped and about hot women and shit like you guys said....but idk, i think if you actually give the games a try you would at least find them enjoyable...

i think the problem is most games today are just about action/adventure and don't really put any effort into the story, so ppl are too used to playing games without a story to enjoy a game series that makes a living off the awesome stories...

but obviously you guys aren't going to agree, but I thought I would just put that out there for you to think about.....instead of just arguing against someone who is just like OMG FF PWNS blah blah, thought I would offer something with some thought behind it

I think its more like, people who love games....tend to love playing good "games" with good gameplay. Something like Liero which is competitive, fast, and skill dependant appeals to me more than a game like FF...where I am basically watching movies, reading text, and choosing which attack I'll try and hit that monster with for the 1000th time.

ah yes but don't you know how much energy that consumes?? do you have any idea how much planning it takes? there is sooo much more than just chosing attack, watching movies reading text and killing a monster for the 1000th time, its all about the RP, the story line, how you grow to love the hero and hate the villan etc. (or in some ppls case love the villan hate the hero)

I guess the strategy is just too...simple for me...

haha you are proving my point...too many ppl have to play something just for the sake of competition, which obviously isn't always a bad thing...not like I don't play halo, liero, brawl, or anything like that....but I think ppl focus too much on this competitive sort of game now and won't give games like FF a chance...

and also you mention how repetitive FF is for doing the same attack for 1000th time but I fail to see how liero is any different....are we not just repeatedly playing on the same few levels and doing the same attacks over and over again to try and kill people...using similar strategies and often playing against the same ppl.....I don't see how that is any less repetitive in terms of gameplay....(please see that I am just trying to make a point...liero is still a fun game don't get me wrong )

and i would also like to get it out there that i am not an "anime fanboy"....i really don't watch any animes, just so you know

also, I am curious, could you tell me exactly what FF games you have played that give you this opinion...and how far through them you actually got....it would be interesting to see if it is a specific game or something that makes you think this....

i sorta think angle that the difference is that in FF, i'm not sure cuz i never played, but i think its that u can't rlly talk to other people, and do stuff...

in liero, ur fighting using the same weps and competeing, but also ur talking with other people, cuz i coul always play with cps, but there as borin as hell =P soo many suicides

Very good point beast, I can agree with that...

although just make sure you realize that not all of us have access to the internet to play with ppl all the time, so perhaps they have to get used to playing games by themselves....personally I never actually got good internet access until I came to college, so I had to make do by myself for all my years in elementary/high school
