what little physics I know doesn't seem to make the doomsday theories possible. The amount of collapsing mass would have to be extremely...big, and it's not.

let me tell u a real doomsday theory

scientists say it will safely slingshot around us.....

now heres another thing, ancient Aztecs(or whatever) were able to predict ALOT of thing that has already happened, for example:WW1&2, global warming, genocide in africa, and the middle east war right now, their predictions stopped at the year 2012. sayin tht is wen the earth will die

btw if tht thing collider fails it wont kill earth

They went through some of the worst case scenarios, and they're mostly worried about the wiring failing and the particles shooting into the earth for about 100 meters. sooooo it's not exactly something to be worried about.. imo

The asteroid thing is bleh, there probably is one coming close by, but they really can't predict the path down to 600 ft. They usually settle on probability. And that's usually higher than your chances of getting hit by lightning .

I don't believe an asteroid will strike, until it's right above my head. By then it'll be too late to care anyway. So I'll just walk away from your theories.

They're looking for a lot of things actually.....umm one of the least complicated ones is that when particles explode under that amount of energy, there should be an equal amount of the particles exploding in opposite directions. I believe they don't see these particles though, so if they can explode them under these conditions then maybe they'll find out where they've gone. Validating theories of portals and extra dimensions...or not.

They have tons of theories, even most things on black holes are just theories, so this intense environment can explain things. Once you KNOW that a theory is true, you can think and develop better technologies. Like the internet, which was thought up while they were building it.
